pba HAND SANITIZER COVER COLLECTION AT THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART, NEW YORK

Sustainability, inclusiveness, climate action force us to ask ourselves a question: is there an ethics of what we manufacture? An industrial design ethics? Before everyone started questioning the consequences of how things are done and therefore the impact of design on the world, it was implied that the moral responsibility of a product was solely on the end user. The epochal change is the shift of responsibility to designers and manufacturers. For pba such responsibility is the starting point for taking action: ethics even before use, and morality is part of how things are done. The responsibility of a product lies with whoever designs it and manufactures it.

COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY

"The Museum of Modern Art is committed to being a leader in sustainability and the intelligent use of resources," said Jean Savitsky, Director, Real Estate and Sustainability at The Museum of Modern Art. "We are proud to work with pba, who shares the same commitment to sustainability, to install their Hand Sanitizer Covers throughout the Museum."

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

"We are pleased to partner with MoMA in weaving their efforts to prioritize health and well-being with a visually integrated experience for visitors and staff" says Maddy Burke-Vigeland, Gensler Principal.

THE COLLECTION

The collection includes two freestanding, two wall-mounted and a countertop model to suit different interiors and aesthetics. Sculptural forms, high-quality steel, and elegant finishes elevate the object beyond their use. These are pieces of design and not just hand sanitizer covers.

FUNCTIONAL AND HYGIENIC ENVIRONMENTS

ADA

The freestanding models Design 1, Design 2 and Design 3 were designed to comply with the ADA and similar accessibility requirements. However, final interpretation of accessibility compliance is the responsibility of the specifier and should be determined in relation to specific project conditions and local codes.

DECLARE LABEL

The Declare Label is like a nutrition label for the building industry. It is a product transparency disclosure that lists the ingredients in products to help customers ensure healthier indoor living environments. It discloses where a product comes from, the materials it is made from, and its end-of-life pathway. We are proud to offer the Declare "Red List Free" Label for our Hand Sanitizer Cover Collection, available on the international living future institute platform.
